1. Data Collection and Use

SoundCompass is designed with a total focus on user privacy. No personal data or audio data is collected, stored, or transmitted to external servers.

• Local Processing: All acoustic signal processing, including frequency analysis (FFT), direction detection, and Augmented Reality (AR) mapping, occurs exclusively on your device in real-time.
• Audio: Audio captured by the microphone is used only for momentary visualization processing. No audio files are recorded, stored, or sent over the internet.
• Camera Usage: Camera access is strictly intended for Augmented Reality (AR) overlays and physical environment mapping for sound source visualization. These images are not saved or shared, except if the user utilizes the "Share diagnostic" function to export a specific screenshot.

2. Offline Functionality

The application works 100% offline. There is no need for a network connection for acoustic analysis and diagnostic tools to function. Therefore, there is no communication with third-party servers or cloud services during app usage.

3. AI Integration (Copy to AI)

The SoundCompass application includes an optional feature called "Copy to AI," which allows users to manually copy diagnostic data to their clipboard. This data is intended to be used with third-party Artificial Intelligence tools of the user's choosing. We do not share any data directly with AI services. The user retains full control over whether or not to paste this data into any external AI platform. Please refer to the privacy policy of the specific AI service you choose to use for information on how they handle the data you provide.

4. Device Permissions

For proper functionality, the app requests access to:

• Microphone: To capture the acoustic signal to be analyzed.
• Camera: For Augmented Reality (AR) functionality.
• Storage (Optional): Only so the user can save diagnostic screenshots to their device's photo album.

5. Changes to this Policy

This policy may be updated occasionally. Use of SoundCompass implies acceptance of these local privacy terms.
